Workers at the Harrisburg City Government Center and some students at Harrisburg High School were dealing with heating issues Wednesday morning.
Frozen pipes in the high school building were causing the outermost classrooms on the first floor to be colder than normal, according to Principal Eugene Spells. This area of the building houses the school's "multiple disabilities" classroom and 6-7 affected students were sent home for the day.
Down at City Hall, the heating system began malfunctioning around 11:15 a.m., according to workers in the building. Mayoral spokesperson Bob Philbin said crews came in to make repairs and restored the heat by 12:30 p.m.
Philbin said clogged air filters were to blame in that case, but admitted the system is in need of an upgrade.
